About: Allan is an experienced engraver & printer as well as an accomplished figurative artist. Since 2009 he has been able to give his artwork more quality time, concentrating on drawing & painting outdoors. From these studies, he is now producing larger studio paintings. Much of his inspiration is gained from his interest in these landscapes including the changing cloud formations, mood & light around West Sussex.

Workshop Details: Collograph printing is a relatively straightforward, yet wonderfully effective printing process, using many everyday 2D items such as string, cotton, muslin, foil plus an array of other materials. You will be working from either an image of your own, a sketch of the surrounding area at the studio or a photograph you may wish to reproduce, so you will need to give a little thought to what you bring to the course beforehand. Collograph printing is great fun, but you will need to a minimum of 3 sessions in order to experiment with a number of print making methods, create your own collograph & produce an edition of prints.
